Traffic Fines representation now online

Traffic fines can now be contested online, in joburg that is. The AARTO which is the new authority for Joburg Traffic Fines has put up a system where you can make representations in respect of a fine online. All you need to do is go to the AARTO website, fill the electronic form, print and post, here is the website address: www.aarto.co.za and here is a short video showing you where you can find the form:

I have received courtesy notices almost 8 months after the offence date. Never did I receive the Infringement notice which should have been months after the offence as well if received. I did fill in a representation and send via registered post. In the meantime an enforcement order was already issued as well. I tried to get hold of someone at AARTO with NO success. In the meantime I am affraid that something serious is going to happen to me but I feel the fines is not legal and I do not want to pay just for the sake of paying. Is there anybody that can give me advice or a contact person to try and resolve??????????

Hi Lulien, this is a common problem. You have done the right thing by sending in the respresentation by registered post. This should protect you in this case because the fine is well out of time to be sent to you. If you want a complete and guaranteed way to have all your fines withdrawn, try http://www.trafficfinestoolkit.co.za

    Hi,
I have been resident at the same address since 2000. I regularly received licence reminders and fines since 2004. In 2009, I received nothing. When I went to the JMPD, it was revealed that my address had been incorrectly captured by some dolt at AARTO who obviously had not copied the details accurately. I took in docs to prove proof of address which was duly captured. How do I confirm that the address is currently correct on AARTO without having to take time off and join miserable queues?
    Thank you,
    Kamal

Hi Kamal, good news for you. The address they use is the eNatIS database. Once you update that, you are all set.
